A bright circumpolar asterism of the northern sky, said to resemble a ladle or cart, and a part of the constellation Major which includes the stars Mizar, Dubhe, and Alkaid. (defdate) The other stars comprising it are Alioth, Megrez, Merak, and Phecda.
